All our Friends and Family,
As
many of you know, Richie Volza had been fighting a courageous
battle with cancer for a little over two years. His valiant struggle
ended on February 24th, 2009. His presence on the bandstand will
be greatly missed, but it's the friendship and laughter that will
that leave a void in our hearts. There isn't anyone who could
make you laugh like he did, and it's those stories that will carry
all of us who were blessed to have known him through the years
ahead. I have no doubts that Rock-n-Roll heaven just got a whole
lot more fun. Words cannot do justice to the love that all of
us in HotHouse felt towards Richie. He was a brother, fiercely
devoted friend, mentor, consummate musician, comedian; extending
kindness and an open heart to all who met him. We would like to
express our deepest sympathy to his loving wife, Maria and his
entire family. May the memories you share give you strength and
comfort. Richie's favorite charity was St. Jude Children's Hospital,
if you would like to make a donation in his name.
Richie,
we love you and will miss you always.
We are fortunate to have talented musicians
to cover the keyboards. We know that Richie would want all of
us to continue, and he demonstrated that throughout his illness.
So, Richie, we will make you smile upon us!
